Since 1976, the School of Music

Saint Louis College of Music is where passion for music meets innovation. Founded in 1976, Saint Louis is among the most renowned music education institutions in Europe, attended by more than 1,800 students a year from all nations. It boasts a stable teaching staff of more than 150 nationally and internationally renowned teachers, headed by Maestro Stefano Mastruzzi since 1998.

Saint Louis College of Music is the first private institution authorized by the Ministry of University and Research (by Minister’s Decree No. 144 of August 1, 2012 and No. 246 of March 28, 2013) to award first and second level academic degrees (with the same value as Conservatory Diplomas, thus equivalent to bachelor’s and master’s degrees) in: Jazz / Popular Music / Electronic Music / Sound Technician / Composition and Applied Music / Classical Music (classical guitar). The educational offerings are among the most extensive in Europe, with more than 360 different courses.

Saint Louis has as its primary goal the first and second level academic training of musicians, but at the same time it is an institutional entity that emerges in the market for its focus on theinternationalization of art education for teachers and students, for Artistic record and concert productions with graduating students and job placement alongside international artists, for the popularization of jazz and popular culture on the territory through seminars and meetings open to the public, as well as the Development of research activities and digitization of Italian and European cultural heritage and the projects of social responsibility In the field of music therapy and cultural integration.

In July 2012, Saint Louis joined theAEC – Association EuropĂ©enne des Conservatoires, an elite network connecting and comparing the best European Conservatoires and Music Institutes. In 1994 it was recognized by the Department of Culture of the City of Rome as a school of cultural interest; in 2005 it was awarded the Presa d’Atto of the Ministry of Education, University and Research. Since 2005, Saint Louis has had European quality certification Iso 9001-2008 and has been accredited as a vocational training institution with the Lazio Region.

In addition to academic tracks, Saint Louis offers courses for all levels of education and ages:

  • Customized courses: individual lessons, of the duration and frequency chosen by the student, to be conducted within one or more quarters, to individually deepen the study of an instrument or singing;
  • highly specialized courses: intensive courses to deepen technique, interplay and interpretation, playing alongside established musicians and specializing in live and studio performance;
  • Teen Academy: courses dedicated to high school students who already want to get a head start on professional music training that will also enable them to prepare for entry into Saint Louis academic courses.
