In the early 1970s, the new generation of Roman jazz organized a series of self-managed festivals, without any public funding, at the Liceo Castelnuovo in the Monte Mario district , at the small theater Il Torchio in Trastevere, and at the Teatro Centocelle
The management approach of the events, outside the official circuits, includes reduced cost of tickets, no fees for musicians, self-taxation to open up the possibility of organizing other events and concerts in the afternoon in order to enlarge the number of young people in the audience
