Jazz and Blues Festival

Article(by Dario Salvatori) that appeared in the weekly magazine Ciao2001(March 1973) concerning the “Jazz & Blues Festival” staged at the “Torchio,” a theater located in Rome’s Trastevere district

The “Jazz & Blues Festival” is organized and self-managed by young musicians from the Roman jazz scene. Promotion of the event included ticket sales at reduced prices, self-taxation of the musicians involved to organize other events, afternoon concerts in order to broaden the audience of young spectators

Most of the young promoters of the concert event at that time attended the jazz course taught by Giorgio Gaslini at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome: Patrizia Scascitelli, Vittorio Baroncini, Bruno Tommaso, Nicola Raffone, Roberto Della Grotta, Antonello D’Angelo, Tommaso Vittorini, Maurizio Giammarco, Massimo Urbani
