The Carosello Records label is founded in Milan by producer Mario Rapallo as a sub-brand of Edizioni Musicali Curci. In the 1970s the “Jazz From Italy” series released 35 records by musicians mostly from the Milanese jazz scene, including Gianni Basso, Guido Manusardi, Sergio Fanni, Giorgio Azzolini, Renato Sellani, Eraldo Volonté

The record series, edited by Lino Patruno and Giancarlo Pillot, contrasted in the same years with its counterpart “Jazz a Confronto” licensed by producer Aldo Sinesio’sHoro label, which was active in the Rome jazz circuit
