After a few years in Rome playing at Purgatorio, a venue carved out of the well-known restaurant Meo Patacca in the Trastevere district, Music Inn and Teatro Sistina, Argentine saxophonist Gato Barbieri, called the cat in the black hat, became internationally known with the soundtrack to Bernardo Bertolucci’s film “Last Tango in Paris, ” written at a friend’s house in Rome in 1971

Returning to the capital in 1979, Gato Barbieri performed in concert accompanied by a seven-piece band at the Teatro Tenda, located near Via Cristoforo Colombo, achieving great success with the public
