Pictured is the concert of the group “Blue Morning” at the 1972 Villa Pamphili Pop Festival.

The Roman group “Blue Morning” participated in the first edition of the Pop Festival organized at Villa Pamphili in Rome between May 25 and 27, 1972. The group (among the first in Italy to offer progressive rock with strong jazz influences) featured saxophonist Maurizio Giammarco, pianist Billy Ward, percussionist Alfredo Minotti and guitarist Roberto Ciotti.

Over the course of the three-day Pop Festival staged at the Roman venue, several formations straddling rock-progressive and jazz-rock performed, including: Osanna, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, The Trip, Raccomandata Ricevuta di Ritorno, Semiramis, Osage Tribe (in 1974 the second edition of the Villa Pamphili Pop Festival was organized).
