Trombone

CUSTOM COURSE

Customized course with individual trombone lessons

The custom trombone course takes the student through the study of the instrument beginning with the proper setting of posture, mouthpiece and breathing. The course progressively develops technical and interpretive skills through an in-depth study of the repertoire for solo instrument and in ensemble, along with a greater historical-stylistic knowledge of the main composers.

Individual instrument lessons allow for the construction of a tailor-made course in line with the individual student’s training needs, learning pace and artistic aspirations. In addition to the custom trombone course, the student may choose to combine participation in ensemble music workshops dedicated to custom courses.

For wind instruments, the “Let’s Take a Breath” program is in effect to support their teaching and culture by allowing free participation in professional Saint Louis orchestras upon audition.

The Pop Choir is based on the all-vocal reworking of songs from the international, modern and contemporary Pop scene. The writing of arrangements focuses on the search for vocal versatility in reproducing elements of the rhythm section, strictly a cappella, alternating percussive skills with layered melodic lines. As the repertoire is studied, some imitative timbres of the instruments will be identified, to be achieved through scores and recorded audio auditions for each section. Good reading of the score is required.

The course aims to develop skills in Vocal Painting, a methodology that combines physical gestures with extemporaneous loop creations, harmony and melody definitions, and articulatory handling. The method is interesting because it stimulates exchanges of responsibility between those who lead the session and those who interact as creators of new ideas. Vocal Painting practice, sight-reading development and multi-voice harmonizations will take place within the workshop.
