Copyright, entertainment legislation and fulfillments
The world of entertainment has its rules, its laws and its customs. In particular, this course aims to clarify certain theoretical-practical aspects that involve the everyday life of those involved in the performing arts, with a focus on the profession of musicianship and a keen eye toward the innovations that, constantly, are being introduced into the world of musicianship.
The program is divided into two parts: the first concerning the legislative apparatus that regulates the entertainment industry with all the obligations and contractual aspects, including aspects that are not always considered: how to open a record company; how to start a live music business; the industry’s contractual framework: from management to impresario, for example.
The second part, however, focuses on a fundamental topic for those who work in entertainment and, in particular, for musicians: the copyright of musical works. From publishing contract to record company contract; music group protection; intellectual property protection; differences between copyright and Copyright; musical plagiarism; collective rights management societies; related rights, as well as reference contracting.
