The Arturia Pigments Monograph course, edited by Sergio Bachelet, is aimed at musicians, composers and sound engineers who wish to explore the role and potential of electronic music in film composition. The course focuses on the use of Pigments, one of the most complete and versatile virtual synthesizers in the Arturia suite, ideal for a hands-on understanding of the logic of synthesis and sound design as applied to audiovisual production.

Course content and structure

Through theoretical lectures and operational demonstrations, students will explore the main types of synthesis, preset management, Synth, FX and Sequencer modes, modulation techniques and the creative use of filters, effects and samplers.
Each lesson concludes with practical exercises to put the concepts covered into immediate application and develop timbral awareness and design autonomy.


The course can be expanded with in-depth modules devoted to the other synths in the Arturia Suite to further extend skills in orchestral sound design and virtual orchestration.

Pre-requisite for entering the course: familiarity with a DAW of your choice (Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton, etc.)

Upon completion of the course “Monograph on Arturia Pigments” you will be able to:

  • Understand the main types of sound synthesis and apply them in creating original timbres for music for images
  • Mastering use of Pigments as a tool for production and sound experimentation, handling presets, Synth/FX/Seq modules, and MIDI configurations
  • Design and modulate complex sounds through the use of Analog, Wavetable and Sample Engines, filters and modulation routing
  • Integrate arpeggiators, sequencers and effects for building musical textures and cinematic atmospheres
  • Employ Pigments as a resource invirtual orchestration, pairing it with acoustic instruments and orchestral samples for multimedia productions

February 26 to June 11, 2026, 15 meetings of 2 hours each, weekly, Thursdays h 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Sergio Bachelet

Graduated in Electronic Music (Level I) from Saint Louis College of Music and in Applied Music (Level II) from the Giovan Battista Martini Conservatory of Bologna, both with honors. His ongoing search for dialogue between the classical compositional tradition and the electronic world has led him to collaborate with audiovisual production studios in Italy and abroad, in Lyon and Paris with Gilles Alonzo and in Bologna with Marco Biscarini’s “Modulab” studio, where he contributed to the soundtrack of internationally awarded films. He works as orchestrator and assistant to Stefano Bollani.
