A week to create, produce and experiment with music applied to contemporary images and discography.
The Music Production Summer School at Saint Louis College of Music is an intensive, immersive experience dedicated to music production in the major creative industry fields: film, video games, TV series, audio branding and contemporary discography. A course designed for young musicians and aspiring producers who want to explore the languages and techniques of audiovisual and electronic production in a highly professional context.
Through three separate but complementary modules, participants develop skills in composing, orchestrating and producing original productions, using major professional DAWs such as Cubase and Ableton Live. The Camp takes place at the Saint Louis headquarters in Milan, a nerve center of Italian innovation and creativity, while also offering the opportunity to connect with the professional world of music and audiovisual.
What is studied at the Music Production Summer School
The program is structured into three intensive workshops focusing on the main areas of contemporary music production.
- Composition and Production Techniques for Cinema, Video Games and Audio Branding. An immersive journey into music applied to images: from analyzing the relationship between sound and image to creating original content for film, video games, and audio branding. Students work on producing an orchestral theme enriched with electronic elements, experimenting with contemporary audiovisual languages.
- Electronic Production for TV Series. Hands-on workshop dedicated to the creation of main themes for TV series. From studying analog, digital and modular synthesizers to analyzing the most iconic soundtracks, students develop a complete sound concept, from moodboard to final realization of the theme.
- Music Production Techniques for Contemporary Electronic Discography. Intensive workshop focusing on using Ableton Live to build a complete track: sample preparation, structure definition, sound design and production. The module culminates in a final Electronic Challenge, featuring the creation of an original song in styles ranging from Rap, Trap and Techno to Pop.
