Adriano Melchiorre studied piano, clarinet, composition, band instrumentation and conducting at the S. Cecilia State Conservatory of Music in Rome, continuing his studies with J. Bodmer and L. Bernstein.

He participated in courses in composition and choir conducting at the Fiesole School of Music. He also studied and took exams in Music History and Ethnomusicology at the Faculty of Letters at La Sapienza University in Rome.

Active as a conductor, composer and transcriber, he has conducted important orchestral ensembles in Italy and abroad such as: The Orchestra of the Accademia di S.Cecilia in Rome, the Soloists of S.Cecilia, the RAI Symphony Orchestra of Rome and Naples, the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, the Bari Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau, the Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestra of Prague, Solingen and Westphalia.

He has collaborated with important lyrical symphonic institutions such as the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, on the occasion of the performance of H.W.Henze’s contemporary opera ” Il Pollicino “, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and the Ente Lirico in Cagliari.

He has collaborated for RAI, Department of School Education Radio One, composed pieces on the text Orpheus Eurydice Hermes by Rainer Maria Rilke, Prize ” The Musical Composer “.

Active in the teaching field, he has been a lecturer in Composition, Orchestral Exercise and Conducting at numerous State Conservatories of Music, performing symphonic-chord programs by classical and contemporary composers and music applied to images.

He has elaborated and composed transcriptions from operas in the repertoire for the musical programs of the Salone Margherita Theater in Rome with great success with the public.
