Dario Giacovelli, class 1990, began studying electric bass in 2003. In 2009 he moved to Rome where he began his studies at the Saint Louis College of Music, specializing in different musical styles and concentrating on experiences of Orchestra Jazz, Gospel Choir and small formations.

He graduated in three years in Basso Elettrico Jazz with honours in October 2015 at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome. He attended the biennium of Basso Jazz specialization at the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome, where he graduated with honors in February 2018.

At the same time, he begins touring and composing and is fascinated by the methods of modern jazz composition and hip-hop/soul productions.

Began in 2016 working with major Italian productions, such as Vivo Concerti, DNA, Vertigo, as a session player for: Chiara Civello, Alan Sorrenti, Mostro, Serena Brancale, Whitemary, Deddy and Sivan Arbel.

It boasts important collaborations with artists from the national and international landscape:

Kurt Elling, Vince Mendoza, Richard De Rosa, Jay Clayton, Melvin Brown, Fabrizio Bosso, Max Ionata, Amedeo Tommasi, Rosario Giuliani, Javier Girotto, Carolina Bubbico, Eleonora Bianchini, Vince Abbracciante, Maurizio Giammarco, Marco Siniscalco, Robertinho De Paula, Gianni Coscia, Dino Piana.

Dario Giacovelli won scholarships and awards at Umbria Jazz 2012 and Fara Music Festival and participated as a workshop collaborator at Roma Summer Jazz Camp in 2015.
