JAZZ GUITAR

Giovanni Candia approaches the guitar study at the age of ten. The initial interest in blues soon turned into a strong passion for jazz, a musical genre that he deepened at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, following first the course of traditional diploma and subsequently the three-year jazz.

After completing three years of studies at Saint Louis, he obtained his second-level academic diploma in jazz guitar at the Conservatorio di Musica “Santa Cecilia” in Rome. Simultaneously with his musical education, he obtained his first and second degree in Communication Sciences from the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome.

He has performed in numerous music reviews both in Italy and abroad. In 2019 he published “Terra Tranquilla”, the first album of the Quartet Scape, where he appears both as a guitarist and as a composer, arranger and producer. He is actively engaged in original musical projects, both as a guitarist and as a composer and producer.

Giovanni Candia has always had a strong interest in music education, and since 2015 he has been a lecturer at Saint Louis College of Music, where he works on subject areas such as ear training, theory and harmony, ensemble music workshops and guitar. He is actively involved in international exchange and cooperation projects related to the activities of Saint Louis.
