Luigi Giannatempo, a prizewinner in various competitions in Composition and Arranging, at Barga Jazz in Sassari, “Euro Jazz Writing Contest” in Paris, Roccella Ionica and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, has composed and arranged for symphony orchestra, string quartet, Jazz Orchestra, choir, string orchestra, brass quintet.

His pieces have been performed in Italy, France, China, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Russia, Argentina, Brazil and England. He later collaborates with soloists and conductors such as: Paolo Fresu, Javier Girotto, Marco Tamburini, Fabrizio Bosso, Stefano Di Battista, Rosario Giuliani and many others.

As composer and arranger, he returned to collaborate with Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto, taking care of the arrangements for “Musica Argentina para Big Band” with Beppe Servillo. Arranges a suite by Paolo Fresu for the Conservatories’ Jazz Orchestra, performed at the Puccini Theater in Florence, in Brussels during Italy’s six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union. In 2012 he edited the ensemble arrangements of a Gino Paoli concert. In 2017, a program of his arrangements for flugelhorn and piano is performed at Carnegie Hall in New York.

He collaborates with Aldo Clementi, Marcello Piras, Marco Tiso, Martin Joseph. He attended Siena Jazz’s advanced course in composition and arrangement.
