Marcello Sirignano graduated in violin in 1988 and in jazz in 2005 at the Conservatorio di Musica S. Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of the masters Bruno Mollo, Mila Costisella and Paolo Damiani. After graduating from violin, he continued to study with the masters Franco Tamponi and Pavel Vernikov and attended several chamber music courses with the Masters Marco Lenzi and Paolo Centurioni. From 1990 he undertook jazz studies with Massimo Fedeli and attended courses at the Berklee College of Music in Boston held in Perugia.

Already as a student, he began an intense concert activity, collaborating with various institutions and musical seasons, including: Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, Orchestra Regionale del Lazio, orchestra del Gonfalone, C.I.M.A., la Stravaganza, Instituzione Universitaria dei Concerti.

Simultaneously with this he participated in numerous record and soundtrack recordings, both as a solo and orchestral instrumentalist and as an arranger and conductor.

In addition, he participates as a violinist in theatrical performances and television broadcasts.

As a jazz musician he participates in concerts and recordings collaborating with leading Italian musicians including: Enzo Pietropaoli, Roberto Gatto, Giovanni Tommaso, Bruno Tommaso, Tommaso Vittorini, Pietro Tonolo, Danilo Rea, Gabriele Mirabassi, Javier Girotto, Massimo Nunzi, Battista Lena, Stefano Di Battista, Salvatore Bonafede, Paolo Damiani, Maurizio Gianmarco, Giovanni Lo Cascio, Checco Marini.

April 2006 saw the release of his first record of original compositions featuring Stefano Di Battista and Danilo Rea. published by the Camjazz label and distributed worldwide.

He is currently a member of the Danilo Rea Quintet and the S. Cecilia Jazz Quartet with Paolo Damiani and is a lecturer of the jazz violin course at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome.
