Maurizio Colonna (Turin, 1959) is unanimously considered one of the greatest classical guitarists of our time. Ha iniziato a suonare la chitarra a cinque anni, a sette ha debuttato in teatro come solista e a diciassette ha suonato il Concierto de Aranjuez, per chitarra e orchestra, in presenza di Joaquin Rodrigo.
Da allora la sua carriera di interprete e compositore lo ha reso celebre in tutto il mondo. Intense collaboration with pianist-composer Luciana Bigazzi-with whom he founded the NCM record label-and with Australian guitarist Frank Gambale.
Maurizio Colonna has numerous television appearances (several on world television), artistic awards and concerts in the most prestigious venues; he has played for the Pope, the President of the Italian Republic and was the first classical guitarist to perform as a guest at the Sanremo Festival.
