JAZZ AND ROCK/BLUES GUITARRA
Nicola Di Tommaso, a guitarist, is an artist with great sensitivity and jazz awareness, characteristics that allow him to range with proven ability from the repertoire of standards to original compositions.
Undertakes guitar study at an early age. A graduate in theory and solfeggio from the “Alfredo Casella” Conservatory in L’Aquila, he obtained a lower diploma in classical guitar at the “Giulio Briccialdi” Conservatory in Terni, under the guidance of Maestro Stefano Mastruzzi and Leonardo Gallucci. He studied at Thelonius Monk in Campobasso with Nicola Cordisco and at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome with Eddy Palermo and with Dario La Penna.
He perfected his studies with maestro Umberto Fiorentino at the Licino Refice Conservatory in Frosinone, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Jazz.
In the meantime in 2013 at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome he obtained his second academic degree in Jazz. He attended the last year of the triennial at the Berklee College of Music, within Umbria Jazz.
He collaborates with the webzines Chitarre and Music Off, for which he has conducted interviews(Kurt Rosenwinkel) and instructional videos. Received second prize in the Jazz Contest for the Original Music section.
Nicola Di Tommaso in 2020 became the official endorser for Italy of the prestigious international brand D’angelico Guitars.
