Alessandro Pacho Rossi was born in Milan in 1970 into a family of artists. He took his first steps in the study of drums and solfeggio with maestro Giancarlo Marini, and then made a decisive breakthrough at the age of thirteen with his meeting with maestro Enrico Lucchini.

Parallel to his study of drums, he delves into ethnic percussion with Candelo C. Cabezas, with whom he explores Afro-Cuban rhythms, and Brazilian percussion with Naco, with a focus on berimbau, an instrument he later perfected with Capoeira Maestro Claudio Gucchierato at the Topazio school in Mestre.

Tiziano Tononi later became his musical and spiritual reference, refining the use of small percussion instruments-which Rossi calls “colors”-and starting a recording collaboration in the jazz sphere with internationally renowned musicians. In 2014 he participated in a masterclass with Bob Moses.

He is a drummer and percussionist in the band Karma, with which he recorded three albums and earned honorable mention at the Berlin Music Video Awards in 2023. Since 2019 he has been collaborating with Perigeo, a historic Italian jazz rock band. Throughout his career he has played and recorded with artists such as Elio e le Storie Tese, Enzo Iannacci, Roberto Vecchioni, Morgan, James Taylor, Franco D’Andrea, Rossana Casale, Lucio Corsi, and many others. He is currently a member of the Super Band directed by Maestro Vittorio Cosma in Capital Jam and appears in the film The Guitar in the Rock, presented at the Rome Film Festival.

He has been teaching Handpan in several schools in Milan since 2014. His teaching activities reflect a cross-disciplinary approach to percussion, matured through decades of live and studio practice in jazz, rock and world music.
