Paolo Marra is a music critic.

Born in Rome, he devoted himself from the age of 13 to the study of both classical and jazz piano and later became passionate about learning more about the history of different musical genres and styles.

Following his high school education in Human Sciences and his undergraduate studies in Communication Sciences, he devoted himself to the in-depth study of media languages conveyed through radio and social networks.

He has been involved in editorial preparation for radio programs and articles for websites for several years. For the online newspaper “Media Frequenza” he writes articles on cross-cutting topics covering music, art, current affairs, and cinema.

In his capacity as music critic for the web magazine “All About Jazz,” he writes articles with reviews and interviews with various musicians from the European and American scene: Jaimie Branch, Claudio Fasoli, Ronin Arkestra, Gary Bartz, Ashley Henry, Roberto Fonseca, Fabrizio Bosso, Stefano Bollani, Enrico Pieranunzi, Mario Biondi, James Senese, Enrico Rava, Matthew Herbert, Paolo Fresu, Danilo Rea, Carmen Souza, Franco D’Andrea, Elina Duni

Paolo Marra collaborates with the Casa del Jazz (Fondazione Musica per Roma) to organize events and meetings with musicians, journalists and music critics

He holds the position at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome as curator of the Italian Jazz Archive and head of the Library.
