Pierluca Buonfrate studied pop singing with Cinzia Baldana followed by jazz singing with Fabrizia Barresi, opera technique with Carlo di Giacomo, piano with Pierpaolo Principato and percussion with Sergio Quarta.

Attends seminars with Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton, Mark Murphy, Bob Stoloff, Judy Niemack, Carl Anderson, Jo Estill, Miles Griffith, Dean Bowman.

He has taught singing in several music schools in Rome since 1994 and has been a lecturer and coordinator of the jazz singing chair at Saint Louis College of Music since 1996.

He is vocal coach in the 2018/19 edition of “Friends” (Mediaset). He has been singing since 2000 in Renzo Arbore’s “Swing Maniacs” orchestra, participating in tours, recordings and TV broadcasts. In 2001 is finalist to the award “Massimo Urbani”.

He performed in many R.A.I. shows from 2000 to 2010. He works in commercials, for soundtracks of film and fiction, in singing doubles and in radio Jingles.

Leader of several jazz formations on his behalf, he collaborates with the most important musicians of the Roman scene.

Participates, in the Big Band “Jazz Company” of M° Gabriele Comeglio, “Ciao Frankie” of Massimo Lopez, of which he is vocal trainer since 2005.

In October 2014 he was invited with Lino Patruno to perform in New Orleans in a tribute to Louis Prima. He collaborated with M° Gianfranco Lombardi in the realization of his project on the classical Naples song. He collaborates with drummer Agostino Marangolo in the creation of his CD “Day by day”. She is part of Mameli Voices, an Italian swing vocal quartet with which she recorded the album “Love in Portofino”.

He is a member of VoCon, the European platform of singing teachers.
