Born in Rome in 1994, he received his Level I academic degree in electronic music from Saint Louis College of Music and Level II academic degree in applied music from the Giovan Battista Martini Conservatory of Bologna, both with honors.

His continuous search for dialogue between the classical compositional tradition and the electronic world has led him to collaborate with audiovisual production studios in Italy and abroad.

Sergio Bachelet collaborated in Lyon and Paris with Gilles Alonzo and in Bologna with Marco Biscarini’s “Modulab” studio, where he contributed to the soundtrack of internationally awarded films, including “I Wanted to Hide” (2020).

He has composed the soundtrack for short films and documentaries presented and awarded at several national and international festivals, including: “Zombie” (2020), directed by Giorgio Diritti (SIC – Settimana Internazionale della Critica, Venice Film Festival); “L’avversario” (2021), directed by Federico Russotto (Student Academy Awards, Hollywood); “L’estate è finita – Appunti su Furio” (2023), by Laura Samani (TSFF – Trieste Film Festival, Trieste).

Sergio Bachelet was awarded for the original soundtrack of “Reginetta” (2022), directed by Federico Russotto, at the Cortinametraggio Festival 2023 (Cortina d’Ampezzo) and was one of four composers internationally selected for the Talent Village of LAFF – Les Arcs Film Festival 2022 (Les Arcs, France).

In 2023, he ranked first in the selection competition for permanent contract “RAI Music Consultants.” He works as orchestrator and assistant to Stefano Bollani, for whom he orchestrated “50/50” (Kristijan Järvi and S. Bollani), performed by Filarmonica Toscanini (dir. Kristijan Järvi) at RF – Ravenna Festival 2023 and “E poi venne il giorno” (S. Bollani), performed by United Soloists Orchestra (dir. Arseniy Shkaptsov) at LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, season 2024/2025.
