GUITAR POP/ROCK

William Stravato began studying classical guitar at the age of 14 with M°Antonio D’Augello, until meeting guitarist Rocco Zifarelli, who directed him toward the jazz-fusion style.

In 1997 he attended the Guitar Institute of Technology, a department of the famous Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he had the opportunity to study and play with: Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Allen Hinds, Carl Verheyan, Mike Miller, Brett Garsed, T.J. Helmerich, Steve Trovato, Jeff Richman, Joey Tafolla, Allen Hinds, Dave Hill and attend workshops with Mike Stern, Frank Gambale, Don Mock.

  • In ’98 he recorded his first solo album entitled ‘Survivor’. In ’99 he led a series of concerts and teaching seminars in which he was joined by Brett Garsed.
  • In 2000 he recorded ‘Cybertones,’ a second solo album distributed worldwide featuring Brett Garsed as a guest again, with which he gained wide acclaim.
  • In 2003 he played as a guest on the tribute album to guitarist Uli Jon Roth, released abroad by the Finnish Lion Music label.
  • In 2004 they released the album ‘Contact’ recorded in collaboration with guitarist Salvatore Russo and earned the cover of AXE magazine .
  • In 2004 he enriched his work experience with a tour of Spain, opening concerts for American guitarist Richie Kotzen
  • In 2006 he is featured on the collection The Alchemist II produced by Liquid Note Records with the song Stratosphere alongside Brett Garsed.
  • In 2007 at the Eddie Lang Jazz Festival along with Brett Garsed, Pippo Matino, Daniele Chiantese.

He participated in two editions of the Ziua Chitarelor festival in Bucharest along with Greg Howe, Michael Angelo, Andy Timmons, Brett Garsed, Michael Lee Firkins, Guthrie Govan, Jennifer Batten, Andreas Oberg, Dave Martone, Stuart Hamm, Mike Vandherule.

He has also played and collaborated with Peppino D’Agostino, Pippo Matino, Massimo Manzi, Michael Manring, Lorenzo Manring, Lorenzo Feliciati, Gianluca Palmieri, John Macaluso, Gianluca Capitani, Greg Bissonette, and Ian Paice.

He is an ongoing contributor to the Musicoff portal, Axe Magazine for guitarists for which he edits educational columns including video.

William Stravato is currently involved in several recording projects and constantly active in his own instrumental project Fusion Guitar Xperience.
