Saint Louis participates in the Erasmus+ program, which allows intensified exchange programs for students, faculty and staff for study, teaching or training projects in Europe and around the world.

Thanks to its participation in the Erasmus+ program, Saint Louis offers its students, undergraduates and graduates of 1st and 2nd cycle Academic Courses, theopportunity to carry out part of their studies or an educational internship during or upon completion of their studies in Europe.

In fact, each student can take advantage of up to 12 months of European mobility per study cycle, choosing one of Saint Louis’ many Partner institutions as a study destination and/or applying to European companies (recording studios, music schools, choirs and orchestras, etc.) for a foreign internship experience.

Erasmus+ students and trainees receive ad hoc community financial aid to support their experience. Students have the opportunity to take courses and use the facilities available at the host institution without additional tuition fees, with the guarantee of recognition of the study period abroad through the transfer of their respective credits earned.

Trainees can begin to put into practice what they have learned during their years of study by putting themselves to the test in professional work settings to kick-start their careers already in an international setting.

INCOMING

WHO CAN APPLY

Applications may be accepted from students regularly in European Institutes of Higher Music Education partnering with Saint Louis for the Erasmus+ Program.

If your institute is not yet a Saint Louis partner, contact your International Office to establish a new international partnership agreement. Saint Louis is open to the creation of new Erasmus+ partnerships.

HOW TO APPLY

The Erasmus+ application to study at Saint Louis must be submitted online through the portal EASY EASY MOBILITY ONLINE.
At the time of Application, in addition to your personal information, you will be asked:

WHEN TO APPLY

We accept applications for the entire academic year or one semester, either the first or second.

Our semesters are divided as follows:

1st semester: late September to mid-February
2nd semester: mid-February to early July

Application deadline:

For students who want to study at Saint Louis in the 1st semester or for the entire academic year: May 1
For students who want to study at Saint Louis in the 2nd semester: Nov. 1

OUTGOING EU

WHO CAN APPLY

Students are eligible for participation from the last year of pre-college through the last year of the Biennium. Each year Saint Louis publishes a Call for Student Mobility, through which it selects eligible candidates for participation in the Program, drawing up an eligibility list based on the average and number of exams taken or the student’s overall performance. Each individual student will be able to carry out up to a maximum of 12 months of mobility abroad per study cycle (three-year and two-year).

WHO CAN APPLY

Students must be duly enrolled in the II or III year of the First Level Academic Diploma, or in the I or II year of the Second Level Academic Diploma; Traineeship mobility is also permitted after the attainment of the I or II Level Diploma (NB. in this case, the application for participation and the Grant Assignment must still be prior to the date of attainment of the Diploma, and the traineeship in question must end within 12 months of the attainment of the Diploma itself). Each year Saint Louis will publish a Call for Internship Student Mobility, through which it will select eligible candidates for participation in the Program by drawing up an eligibility list. Each individual student will be able to perform from 2 up to a maximum of 12 months of mobility abroad for each course of study (three-year and two-year).

WHERE

Mobilities may be carried out in small, medium or large public or private enterprises; public bodies at the local, regional or national level; labor organizations; research institutes; foundations; schools or educational centers at any level, including those for adult education; nonprofit organizations, associations, NGOs; career guidance, career counseling and information services bodies; International Relations offices; other Representations or Public Institutions such as Cultural Institutes, schools, etc.
The Applicant may contact the chosen location for the internship independently, or contact the International Office for support.

HOW TO APPLY

The selection of Candidates is carried out in three stages:

Internal pre-selection at Saint Louis: the interested student should apply by following the instructions in the relevant Announcement.
Acceptance or Confirmation of receipt of the Candidate (deemed eligible by Saint Louis) by the chosen internship site.
Allocation of the Erasmus+ Grant to candidates accepted by the selected locations, and subsequent preparation for departure.

Erasmus Outgoing Teachers, thanks to the Erasmus+ program, Saint Louis teachers can carry out mobility periods at a foreign institute, institution or company

Mobility of a minimum duration of 2 days (usually 3 to 5 days stay + 2 days travel), intended exclusively for Saint Louis, faculty, consisting of carrying out educational activities (courses, workshops, seminars) at one of Saint Louis’ partner European Institutes or at any European Institute participating in the Erasmus+ program.

HOW TO APPLY

The mobility proposal can be submitted to the receiving institution through the International Office, or individually by the faculty member himself. In the latter case, the teacher may personally contact the institution in question and, upon receipt of an official letter of invitation, submit the possible mobility to the International Office, which will finalize the terms.

All projects submitted to the International Office by the annual deadline will be evaluated by the Education Department and placed on a merit list. Projects deemed suitable will be proposed to foreign institutes and mobilities will be granted and implemented until the available funds are exhausted.

Erasmus Outgoing Teachers, thanks to the Erasmus+ program, Saint Louis teachers can carry out mobility periods at a foreign institute, institution or company

Mobility of a minimum duration of 2 days (usually 3 to 5 days stay + 2 days travel), is intended for both faculty and administrative staff at Saint Louis; it allows them to choose an educational path through activities aimed at the transfer of skills, the acquisition of practical skills (e.g., Intensive Refresher Courses or language courses) and the learning of good practices by the beneficiaries (e.g., job shadowing of teaching activities carried out by colleagues in Foreign Institutes); it can be carried out at a European Higher Music Education Institute, holder of an Erasmus+ University Charter, and/or at enterprises (e.g., at Choirs or Orchestras established as Institutions, or even at other European Institutes outside the Erasmus network) present in one of the countries participating in the Program.

OUTGOING EXTRA EU

L’International Credit Mobility is one of the major innovations introduced by the Erasmus+ Program in order to facilitate the mobility of students, faculty and technical-administrative staff between EU and non-EU countries.

After successfully consolidating itself among the countries of the European Union, Saint Louis College of Music approaches this new opportunity for exchange and growth by launching, starting with the 2017/2018 Academic Year, two two-year Collaboration Projects, now concluded, with the Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Georgia) and the Faculty of Arts, Universiteti i Prishtines (Kosovo)., an exchange that saw in mobility:

TIBLISI – GEORGIA

The Exchange Program between Saint Louis and Tbilisi State Conservatory focused on the Departments of: Jazz, Sound Technician and Electronic Music Composition.
The Project, inaugurated in September 2017, lasted for two years-ending September 2019-implemented outbound mobility of teaching and administrative staff of Saint Louis, and inbound mobility of students, administrative and teaching staff of Tbilisi Conservatory.
For the 2nd year of the Project, on the strength of the similarities and complementarities noted between the two Institutes, as well as the strong affinity, Saint Louis involved the TSC in an expansion of the mobilities provided by the Erasmus program, going to Tbilisi to stage a 3-day Jazz Festival in which Italian ensembles were complemented by a local musician: Minus One.

PRISTINA – KOSOVO

The Exchange Project with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina was activated starting from the 2018/2019 academic year, implementing outgoing mobility of Saint Louis faculty and administrative staff for 1 full year, and incoming mobility of students, administrative staff and faculty of the Kosovo Institute. Departments involved: Jazz (incoming and outgoing), Classical and Folk (from Kosovo to Italy). The ultimate goal of the project was to encourage the establishment of a dedicated jazz department within the Faculty of Arts in Pristina, which provides only a few modules dedicated to this musical genre, in view of the absence of jazz teaching centers in the entire region of Kosovo.
