50 YEARS AND COUNTING – The Saint Louis celebrates fifty years of music education at Milan’s Castello Sforzesco, with Fabrizio Bosso as the special guest at Francesca Feci’s concert.

Saint Louis College of Music chooses Milan’s Castello Sforzesco to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: 50 years of music education in Italy. July 8, 2026 sees the staging of 50 Years Played, an evening event that brings together students, artists and the special participation of Fabrizio Bosso, one of the most influential trumpet players on the Italian jazz scene, in one of the country’s iconic cultural venues.

The evening opens with a performance by the ensemble of the students of the Level I Academic Courses in Electronic and Applied Music at the Milan branch of Saint Louis: a sound manifesto of the artistic productions that the AFAM Institute cultivates every day in the classrooms of 37 Viale Luigi Bodio.

The heart of the evening is the presentation of Devotion, a recording project by young singer-songwriter Francesca Feci, produced by Saint Louis College of Music under the artistic direction of Stefano Mastruzzi. Devotion weaves the jazz tradition with the languages of the present, exploring an expressive territory in which the song form opens to new harmonic and timbral perspectives. Jazz standards revisited through original arrangements will also be performed during the concert, with Fabrizio Bosso participating extraordinarily on stage. The event is part of a tour that sees young artist Francesca Feci, a Biennium Jazz Diplom at Saint Louis, engaged in the live presentation of her debut album “Devotion,” produced by Stefano Mastruzzi for Saint Louis Music production’s Jazz Collection series. The tour will include stops in various Italian and European cities, and at the end of it, the docu-film “Devotion: Four cities, One jazz story,” a project with which Saint Louis won the “Lazio Sound Touring 2026” call for entries.

Founded fifty years ago in Rome, Saint Louis College of Music is now one of the leading private institutions of higher music education in Italy. The opening of the Milan office has consolidated a presence that spans generations of musicians, making a major contribution to Italian music culture and production. “50 Years Played” is the first in a series of events celebrating the Institute’s 50th year, and it does so with what has always set it apart: bringing young artists to prestigious stages alongside established musicians on the international stage.
