On the occasion of Milan Music Week 2024, Metatron Publishing and Saint Louis College Of Music are teaming up to tell the behind-the-scenes story of the music industry, delving into the profession of the Music Producer.
In fact, on Nov. 23, a full immersion in the world of music production will take place at the new Saint Louis headquarters in Milan, Viale Bodio, 37, with three top names on the scene: Dade, Fudasca and Diora Madama.
From composition to recording, the producers will guide the children backstage in their creative process.
Being Producer: Saturday, November 23 – 2:30 p.m. (Free admission)
Davide Pavanello, aka Dade, is a multi-platinum musician, songwriter and music producer, founder and original member of the historic band Linea 77.
During his talk, he will illustrate the connection between the worlds of music and film, sharing his experience in creating soundtracks. The producer will guide the audience through the creative processes of music composition for film, starting with the project in the shared digital workstation.
The focus will be on scenes from two specific projects, “GLORIA!” directed by Margherita Vicario, and “Me and the Dry,” directed by Gianluca Santoni.
Simone Eleuteri, aka Fudasca, is a producer and songwriter from Rome: his talk will explore the evolution of hip hop and beatmaking, with a focus on the sounds and techniques that characterize that genre.
Starting from the roots of hip hop, we will delve into the production techniques and creative processes that transform beatmaking into a global art, capable of embracing different musical styles.
The talk will include examples of collaborations with artists from different genres and show how hip hop, while maintaining its identity, has been able to adapt and contaminate itself, creating new sounds and unique cultural connections.
In particular, examples of international collaborations (U.S. and South Korea) will be given as a pretext to explain the differences in approaches to music around the world.
Angela Radoccia, aka Diora Madama, a singer-songwriter and producer from Abruzzo and an alumna of Saint Louis College of Music, will lead a talk devoted to self-production and creative arrangement.
Opening a session of one of the pieces-“CabrĂ²n,” from his project-the workshop will focus not so much on technical aspects as on ideas, creativity and inspirations drawn from rhythmic patterns of different cultures, as well as selected sounds.
The artist will be fully available to answer questions from the audience about the production and will share useful tips and advice.
BELEM: How to monetize with lyrics – Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m. (free admission upon registration upon arrival at the venue)
“Being a Producer” will not be the only event organized by the two players: in fact, BELEM: how to monetize with lyrics will be held on the same day.
BELEM (Boosting European Lyrics and their Entrepreneurial Monetization) is a project launched in December 2022 that aims to democratize and monetize access to song lyrics, supported by a consortium of 13 entities, including LyricFind and Deezer, and funded by the European Union.
During the event, Robert Singerman, LyricFind’s Senior Vice President of International Publishing, will speak, who will also explain the open calls for artists and publishers, from which they can obtain funding of up to 60 percent of the costs for repertoire translation.
The meeting is an opportunity to raise awareness of BELEM’s potential in the Italian music scene.
