Bridging Eras, featuring David Linx special guest with the Saint Louis Big Band conducted by Maestro Antonio Solimene for an extraordinary concert at Casa Del Jazz, a special evening where generations and eras intersect and meet.
The repertoire will consist of arrangements of compositions by vocalist and composer David Linx, with some pieces by Michel Legrand and James Taylor arranged by Maestro Gianluigi Giannatempo, for a big band in a reduced format, so as to bring out a deeper contrast of dynamics.
David Linxis considered one of the most important singers on the contemporary jazz scene. His best-known project is the one linking him with pianist and composer Diederik Wissels, but his artistic journey, his ever-original style, and his incessant activity over the years have led him to collaborate with the best exponents of the international scene including Roy Ayers, Oumou Sangaré, Meshell Ndegeocello, Steve Coleman, Count Basie Orchestra, Ivan Lins, Sheila Jordan, Kenny Wheeler, Toots Thielemans, Billy Cobham, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Omara Portuondo, Marc Ribot, Nguyên Lê, Ibrahim Maalouf, Lenine, Miroslav Vitous, and Hamilton de Holanda, not to mention collaborations with Italian musicians such as Maria Pia de Vito, Paolo Fresu, and Cristina Zavalloni, to name a few.

The Saint Louis Big Band conducted by Antonio Solimene is an orchestral formation that fully respects the classical big band structure i.e., 4 Trumpets, 5 Saxes, Trombones, Rhythm Section, 6 Choristers. The lineup, formed in September 2007, has to its credit participation in many prestigious jazz festivals such as Villa Celimontana Jazz, Atina Jazz, Brindisi in Jazz, Nick La Rocca Jazz Festival, and numerous collaborations with internationally renowned artists, such as Kurt Elling, Peppe Servillo, Gegè Telesforo, Rosario Giuliani, Daniele Scannapieco, and Marcello Rosa. Javier Girotto chose the Saint Louis Big Band to perform and record songs from his project “Escenas en Big Band.”
