“Jazz Factory,” Creations and Sounds from the Saint Louis Department of Higher Education. With the Saint Louis Big Band conducted by Maestro Antonio Solimene on stage at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Artists, composers, creatives of our time, the Saint Louis Jazz Factory is a craft workshop of sound, where the musical idea becomes ink on the score, then music, then the reverberation of an emotion.

A research work of refined merit, appreciated and recognized throughout Europe, wherever the Jazz Factory has directed its energetic harmony, a trait d’union between tradition and avant-garde.

The Saint Louis Big Band, led by the enthusiasm of Maestro Antonio Solimene, will perform original compositions and arrangements by the young composers.

Saint Louis Big Band
The Saint Louis Big Band is an orchestral formation that fully respects the classical big band structure i.e. 5 trumpets, 5 saxes, 4 trombones, rhythm section and vocals.
The ensemble’s jazz-like repertoire touches on most of the expressions and changes that have characterized Afro-American music since the beginning of the last century, offering some of the finest pages of orchestral jazz literature(Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie) and elaborations by contemporary arrangers from the American area(Sammy Nestico, Don Sebesky, Bob Mintzer).
The Saint Louis Big Band, from 2007 to the present, has collaborated with numerous internationally renowned artists, including Kurt Elling, Peppe Servillo, GegeÌ Telesforo, Rosario Giuliani, Daniele Scannapieco, Marcello Rosa, Javier Girotto, and Richard De Rosa.
