John Wooton is the director of the Percussion Department at the University of Southern Mississippi. He is the author of two methods and numerous rudimental drum solos, as well as pieces for percussion marching band ensembles.
His vast experience and contributions to music education make him a leading figure in the world of percussion.

His recent book, “Dr. Throwdown’s Rudimental Remedies,” includes a 2-hour DVD, 951 play-along songs and 25 detailed lessons. This work has become an essential resource for drummers and percussionists who wish to improve their technical skills and rhythmic accuracy.

“The Drummer’s Rudimental Reference Book” is a basic method widely used in many universities, both in the United States and abroad.
This book offers a comprehensive and systematic approach to rudimentary exercises, providing a solid foundation for percussion students.
