Live jazz performance The Saint Louis College of Music project continues with the extraordinary participation of Ameen Saleem as Special Guest and Special Coach, onstage with an ensemble formed by Saint Louis’ Biennial Jazz Specialty students.

The event will take place on Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m., with an aperitif-dinner included, at the Alexanderplatz jazz club at Via Ostia 9 00195 Rome and will feature:

Rising star, bassist Ameen Saleem, referred to by critics and peers as “the first choice among bassists,” majored at Queens College, New York’s Aaron Copland School of Music. He was invited by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, to participate in the 2004 Jazz Betty Carter Ahead Program, a residency program for jazz musicians under 30 who are performers and composers. Ameen Saleem has performed with the Jazz Ensemble of the Duke Ellington school, the Jazz Ensemble ofNorth Carolina Central University, the Queens College Ensemble, the Cornelious Eva and Chip Crawford Trio,The Winard Harper Sextet, Marcus Strickland Quintet. He has also collaborated and recorded with Frank Lacy, Montez Coleman, Gregory Hutchinson, Farnell Newton Marcus Reynolds Quintet, Brian Horton Quartet and many others. He has been a member of the Roy Hargrove acoustic quintet and his Big Band. Ameen Saleem has appeared at Montreux, North Sea Festival, Vienne, East Coast, Hampton, Vox Jazz,JavaJazz Festival and all major festivals and Jazz Clubs around the world.
