NOTES A MARGINE is a kind of autobiographical narrative, commissioned from Nicola Piovani by the Cannes Film Festival in 2003 (under the title Leçon concert), It is a performance in which Piovani shares with the audience experiences, memories and emotions from over forty years of his career

In the wake of memoirs and anecdotes, the Maestro retraces some of the great encounters that marked his path, from Federico Fellini, fondly remembered for his small foibles and mastery as a director, to the Taviani to Vincenzo Cerami and Roberto Benigni, with episodes narrated with lightness and sincerity.

Life experiences between music, cinema, and theater that Piovani recounts by accompanying them with the notes of his piano, along with saxophone and double bass. Telling it in music helps to understand the meaning of Piovani’s narrative who emphasized, “I cannot remember a single moment in my life when there was not music.”
