Sound Hanging on a Wire, Reference Cable Workshop curated by Angelo Tordini, Friday, Feb. 9 at Saint Louis.

A full-immersion day to learn how to wire a band consisting of drums, bass, guitar, vocals and keyboards, with a dedicated focus on each instrument.

Angelo Tordini, Tech manager & Chief Designe of Reference Cables, will lead in setting up a complete set up, in collaboration with the students themselves, who can bring along their own instrument or microphone and cable for more active participation.

  • The role of cable in every need, live and studio
  • Technical insights into the cable
  • Identity of an input channel list
  • Setting up an arrangement
  • Choice of microphones
  • Cable selection for each source
  • Input cable channel list: where to identify not only instruments, microphones, diboxes and direct out, but also and especially balanced and unbalanced lines, choosing them by filter consistency
  • Line check
  • Beginning testing with workshop participants
  • Sound check
  • Standard ladder with a/b test and recording
  • Listening to the recording with comments and insights

The worskhop is free admission and reserved for Saint Louis students; to attend, make reservations.
