One of the most spectacular projects of the great Dede’ Ceccarelli, who exclusively presents us with one of his award-winning groups ! A magnificent reinterpretation of Leonard Bernstein’s masterpiece together with three great Italian musicians : Rosario Giuliani , Walter Ricci, and Julian Oliver Mazzariello. With them is one of France’s best bassists, Diego Imbert, along with percussionist François Constantin.
It all started in 1997, when André Ceccarelli with the release of this album unleashed a musical tidal wave in Paris! More precisely, it all begins when the drummer, still a teenager, discovers West Side Story at the movies. The aesthetic of the colorful New York film begins to become the origin of the masterpiece of this great French artist with clear Italian roots. André Ceccarelli is now a legend! His fame has reached far beyond the borders of France: a career in the United States together with Chick Corea since 1979, many tours with Dee Dee Bridgewater begun in 1987 | his Trio Sud alongside Sylvain Luc and Jean-Marc Jafet. Dédé Ceccarelli has recorded more than a thousand records (Stan Getz, Charles Aznavour, Claude Nougaro, Brad Mehldau, Tina Turner, …) “West Side Story” is another proof of his taste, swing, creativity, and incredible technique.
