Simone Lao, known artistically as Mones, is a Sicilian singer-songwriter. He developed a passion for music at the age of 10, dedicating himself to studying singing and showing a strong artistic sensitivity from the very beginning. In 2014, he had his first major television experience by participating in “Ti lascio una canzone” on RaiUno, an opportunity that allowed him to perform and duet with prominent figures of Italian music such as Gino Paoli and Roberto Vecchioni.
At the age of 16, he began writing his first songs, embarking on an increasingly personal songwriting journey. He later moved to Rome to further his musical studies at the Saint Louis College of Music, where he refined his technique, songwriting, and artistic identity. In 2022, his first recording project took shape with the release of the singles “Mi manca l’aria” and “Nuvole,” which together surpassed 200,000 streams on Spotify. In 2024, he released his third single, “Scappare da me,” marking a further evolution in his musical path.
Mones’ music stands out for its contemporary pop style, characterized by intimate and modern sounds, along with direct and authentic songwriting.
