Advanced Pop-Rock Courses

Highly specialized Pop-Rock courses at the new Saint Louis location in Milan.

Starting in January 2024, Saint Louis will open its new Milan location-the Bodio Center’s La Stilo building near the vibrant Bovisa and Isola neighborhoods, a creative Hub within a redevelopment process of the entire surrounding area-with intensive Pop-Rock stylistic master classes.

Full-immersion, full-day, fortnightly meetings that will provide an opportunity to study and play alongside some of Italy’s leading musicians and perfect your instrument and ensemble music.

The Art of Trio
with Lorenzo Feliciati, Luca Mantovanelli, Elio Rivagli

Led by teachers Lorenzo Feliciati, Luca Mantovanelli and Elio Rivagli, the students will specialize in performing songs, both originals and covers, as a rock trio: guitar, bass and drums.

You will have the opportunity to perfect your performance to the fullest by playing with the teachers themselves and with other students. At the end of the meetings, they will take the repertoire to the recording studio for mixing the pieces performed during the course.

Masterclass di presentazione corsi a Milano

with Lorenzo Feliciati and Daniele Chiantese

Highly specialized workshop intended for bassists and drummers, aimed at perfecting their aptitude for section work and management of technical and interpretive practices on stage and in the recording studio. Searching for the appropriate sound and pronunciation, relation to beat and portamento, creative interaction skills, analysis and internalization of forms are the primary aspects on which teachers Lorenzo Feliciati and Daniele Chiantese focus their work.
The course has a multi-stylistic matrix and looks at the analysis of languages as the main pretext for framing the characteristics and dynamics of the joint dialectic exercised between bassist and drummer in the performance of a piece.

Daniele Chiantese Drum-Bass

with David Aru

Il corso a cura di Davide Aru punta a stimolare la creatività del chitarrista, in un contesto di simulazione realistica del lavoro in studio di registrazione, con la finalità di renderlo autonomo nella produzione del suono delle proprie chitarre, e non solo.

They will work on edited pieces from the most current repertoire of Italian, Spanish and South American artists, together with the teacher, who will play the role of producer. The course aims to stimulate the musician to interact with the piece, trying to play with a more total and less “self-centered” view of his or her instrument, never leaving out the role of instrumentalist.

Davide Aru Studio-Guitar

The guitar becomes an orchestra
with Maurizio Colonna

La tecnica classica nel mondo del Pop e delle Fusion, a cura di Maurizio Colonna. When we play the individual parts of a pop arrangement with the guitar, we enter a unique sound world. Then when a polyphonic synthesis is made with the guitar, in which in addition to the theme and harmonic parts of a pop song, the groove of the rhythm section is reproduced, the guitar becomes an orchestra. The objective of the course is to explore this guitar dimension, in which the use of classical technique is functional to the understanding of the topics covered.

Frequency: Monthly meetings, each masterclass is devoted to a specific topic, so it is also possible to register for a single meeting.

The other rock guitar
with Gianni Rojatti

From Punk style to Reggae, through Alternative/Grunge and Post Rock, through the creative use of effects: from decorative to structural element of sound.

During the course, under the guidance of Gianni Rojatti, participants will immerse themselves in a journey through the most iconic musical genres, learning how the guitar has been a driving force of artistic expression. The course shows how sound effects, from simple decorative elements, have transformed over time into structural components of sound, adding depth and emotion to performances.
