At its new Milan location, Saint Louis College of Music is launching theARTURO-MI 2024 Milan band contest. Up for grabs is the production of a song, from the Recording stage in the studio to Mix & Mastering to be done in A.Y. 2024/25.
Saint Louis offers musicians between the ages of 16 and 30 the opportunity to record their own songs, published or unpublished, at the Recording Studio in Milan (Viale Luigi Bodio 37) as part of the Sound Technician Department’s teaching activities.
The call for entries is open to contests for Milan bands, singers, songwriters. Prerequisite element to participate in the contest is to apply by having a full rhythm section for the recording rounds.
Ideal formation: drums, bass, guitar, piano/synth, vocals
Minimum training. drums, bass, guitar
Entries will be judged by an internal Saint Louis jury composed of Director Stefano Mastruzzi and Department Heads who will name the contest winners.
Each contest winner will have the opportunity to have their track recorded and mixed for free.
The contest was created as part of the teaching activities of the Mix & Mastering course, so applicants are aware that they will be in the service of teaching, which will still maintain the creative, dynamic and artistic spirit characteristic of record productions. The schedule of recording sessions will be communicated to the winners well in advance so that musicians can be guaranteed to attend all the dates scheduled for the recording rounds.
To apply for the contest, you must fill out the form below by September 10, 2024, attaching up to 4 songs in mp3 format.
It is optional, but very helpful in assessing the technical level of the musicians, to also attach a link to a video of a live performance by the band.
