Between Music Festival 2024, July 22-28 in Piazza Armerina, artistic direction Stefano Mastruzzi and Roberto Grossi.
After the success of the first two editions, the Between Festival, from 2024 opens to the Mediterranean, to the training of young artists and expressions of ethnic and popular music, and to the visual arts and becomes, thus, Between Music&Arts Festival.
The Archaeological Park of Morgantina and the Villa Romana del Casale, in the heart of Sicily, establishes itself as a place of encounter between cultures, of experimentation and research between tradition and modernity.
The themes of diversity and plural identities as richness, of encounter as an opportunity for knowledge and regeneration, and of contamination as exchange and metamorphosis toward progress, are the common thread of the Festival’s artistic and musical proposal, which intends to enhance, in this way, the identity texture of intercultural relations among Mediterranean peoples.
An ambitious and concrete project, then, through concerts and musical performances, visual art exhibitions, moments of open meetings and confrontations, and, above all, workshops of shared creativity among young artists from the many villages participating in the first major Campus of artistic production in the Mediterranean.
The project is implemented in collaboration with the MFA and the network of Italian Cultural Institutes abroad.
The Between Festival stands as a ” unicum ” among the many Italian festivals, with a program that emphasizes and enhances the extraordinary vocation to hospitality and artistic creativity, in the context and groove of the Sicilian cultural tradition.
The intersections of civilization and history, between tangible and intangible heritage, are not a legacy of the past, from Greek to Roman culture, from the Arab world to the Normans, but fertile ground of our contemporaneity and an open window to the future.
Also for this reason, Between 2024 has chosen to adopt the figure of Federico Fellini, as a reference and emblem of a “universal” vision of man,totally free from all stereotypes, in which the “dream” is an inscrutable and boundless horizon, capable of directing the path of each of us toward hope.
The event will run from July 22 to 28, 2024, with concerts, multidisciplinary performances, exhibitions, screenings, presentations and talks.
Moments of reflection, listening, participation and even celebration that will enliven world-famous and also lesser-known places, such as Villa Romana del Casale, Aidone (Morgantina), Mazzarino (Sofiana), Pietraperzia (Runzi) and the splendid Baroque of Piazza Armerina.
Throughout the entire period, artistic production workshops will be operational on the Between Campus to create and consolidate, in the meeting of young people who come from different histories and cultural roots, a permanent network of knowledge and sharing.
