Body Sound DiVision in Vilnius

Body, dance, choreography and interdisciplinary research is the new BIP conceived by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA), in collaboration with Body Sound DiVision, which will take place March 17-28, 2025 in Vilnius.

Following the success of “Body, Sound, Light and Scenography” conceived by Tallin University, which brought together students from the Erasmus+ Body Sound DiVision Consortium, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) in Vilnius and the Latvian Academy of Culture in Riga in the Estonian capital, BSdV’s consortium institutions have been invited to take part in “Body, dance, choreography and interdisciplinary research,” BIP created by LMTA from March 17-28, 2025.

This 12-day intensive program explores the relationship between the body, dance and choreography within the broader framework of interdisciplinary research. Combining theoretical discussions and practice, BIP studies how dance can intersect with other fields such as visual arts, music, technology, theater and cultural studies.

Participants will engage in creative experimentation, collaborative projects and critical reflection, fostering an understanding of how interdisciplinary approaches can enrich choreographic processes and expand the boundaries of dance as an art form.

Taking part in “Body, dance, choreography and interdisciplinary research” are students and faculty from the four BSdV consortium institutions:
Sara Bassottiand Lorenzo Cervini (Saint Louis); Claudia Bellomo, Veronica Lucaroni and Dora Ruggiero (AND); Giada Sabrina Rossetti and Benedetta Bagnolo (ISIA); Lydia Monsen and Supryia Ravi Shankar (RUFA)
Lecturers: Marco Vallarino (Saint Louis), Patrizia Bertolini and Alessandro Guariento (ISIA), Silvia Giambrone (RUFA).
