“Caminhar,” the second single from LOJI’s new album

“Caminhar” is the second single released in anticipation of the album by LOJI (Libera Orchestra del Jazz Italiano), set for release on June 10, 2026, as part of Saint Louis Music Production’s Jazz Collection series.

From a suspended and mysterious intro, Caminhar gradually unfolds to reveal all its Brazilian-inspired energy, with echoes of choro and samba. A piano ostinato drives the piece forward, while the bass creates a tension built on saudade and movement, and the saxophones trace agile, luminous lines.

The result is a delicate balance between melancholy and dance, between introspection and rhythmic energy. A sonic journey that builds step by step, transforming the slightest gesture into an unstoppable force capable of drawing the listener ever further in.

LOJI – Libera Orchestra del Jazz Italiano is the Roman big band founded in 2019, featuring 14 musicians on stage and three conductors at the helm— Gabriele Ceccarelli, Filippo Minisola, and Matteo Rossi — has established itself as one of the most interesting jazz orchestral projects on the Italian scene.

The name says it all: “Libera,” because it is independent and constantly evolving; “of Italian Jazz,” because its stated goal is to promote the most original expressions of Italian jazz.

The orchestra is distinguished by its model of collective artistic direction —three conductors work in parallel on arrangements and compositions—and by its open membership, which consistently welcomes new talent. The result is an ever-changing sound laboratory, capable of interweaving orchestral writing and improvisation with a fluid and inclusive approach.

Over the years, LOJI has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Italian jazz: fromthe “ ” and “Casa del Jazz” in Rome tothe Alexanderplatz, as well as at the“ ” and “Muntagninjazz” festivals.
