Confluences: RUFA and Saint Louis Join Forces for Three Evenings of Audiovisual Art as Part of Videocittà Watercult 2026
Five multimedia performances born from the collaboration between musicians and visual artists, July 10–12, 2026, in the evocative setting of Rome’s Gazometro, a site of urban industrial archaeology
RUFA and Saint Louis College of Music present *Confluences*, an audiovisual project that brings five live performances —built around a constant dialogue between sound and image—to the stage of the Gazometro as part of Videocittà Watercult 2026. From July 10 to 12, 2026, over three evenings—each featuring two events—five groups of visual artists studying in RUFA’s Multimedia Design and Creative AI and Cinema programs will collaborate with ensembles of students from Saint Louis’s academic programs in Jazz and Pop, in an exchange conceived as a recursive ecosystem: video influences sound, sound influences video, with no predetermined direction.
The common thread linking these works iswater, explored from a wide variety of perspectives: from the Venice lagoon to the Tiber, from the tear as an emotional trace to the spring as a source. Each performance arises from the interplay between the visual sensibility of RUFA’s artists andthe musical improvisation of the Saint Louis musicians, who are students of electronic music, voice, piano, guitar, and bass. The convergence of the two languages takes shape in a shared stage set, designed to convey in real time the relationship between what is seen and what is heard.
Confluences, organized by RUFA and Saint Louis College of Music, is part of the Videocittà Watercult 2026 program, the Festival of Vision and Digital Culture, which returns to Rome’s Gazometro from July 10 to 12, 2026, dedicating its ninth edition to the theme of water.
Light installations, immersive, interactive, and virtual reality experiences, digital art, DJ sets, and live audiovisual performances will bring Europe’s largest urban industrial archaeology site to life.
