FAQ

The Giorgia Mileto Prize annually awards scholarships to deserving young musicians to attend Bachelor and Master of Arts courses in Jazz and Pop at Saint Louis.

The award was established in 2020 to remember Giorgia Mileto, Saint Louis’ longtime press office since 2002, who was deeply involved in the growth of the AFAM Institute andthe many students who attended it over the years, accompanying them from their first steps on the stage and supporting them in their professional growth. Saint Louis, in agreement with the Mileto family, believes that the best way to remember dear friend and colleague Giorgia is to reward the talent and dedication to music of young musicians.

Musicians, singers and songwriters who are under 28 years of age on June 10, 2026. The award also includes an under-18 category, dedicated to very young music students who are under 18 years of age as of June 10, 2026.

Yes, even those who have never attended Saint Louis can submit their applications for the Giorgia Mileto Award. There is no need to pre-register for 2026/27 courses to participate in pre-selection. A student who participates in the final auditions will be able to decide whether or not to enroll after knowing the outcome, accepting the scholarship if he or she is the winner. If, on the other hand, he is not a winner, he will have no obligation to enroll in Saint Louis courses.

The Giorgia Mileto scholarship consists of major concessions on the fee – 20 percent up to 70 percent of the annual fee – for an average annual value of each awardee between 1,000 and 4,000 euros. It is therefore a partial waiver on the annual fee. There are no total forms of exemption.

Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2026, exclusively via online form found on the dedicated page on saintlouis.eu. Artistic curriculum vitae and two links to video or audio material, suitable for proper evaluation of the candidate’s artistic abilities by the internal Prize Committee, chaired by Saint Louis Education Director M° Stefano Mastruzzi, is required.

Candidates for the award who pass the initial pre-selection, made on the basis of the submitted material, will be called for auditions to be held in the form of a live concert, in the premises of Saint Louis in Rome, in June 2026. Applicants may be accompanied by their own band or by a resident band provided by Saint Louis itself. Further details on the conduct of the auditions will be communicated via email to the finalist candidates.
