Giorgia Mileto” Scholarship 2022

In memory of Giorgia Mileto, Saint Louis is promoting for the third consecutive year the Call for Applications for Scholarships to attend Level I and II academic courses in the Department of Jazz and the Department of Pop.

Giorgia Mileto Award

Press office since 2002, Giorgia Mileto has been dedicated and passionate about organizing the teaching, musical events and all the activities of Saint Louis, deeply involved in the growth not only of the AFAM Institute, but also of the many students who have attended it over the years, accompanying them from the first steps on the stage and supporting them in their professional growth.

Therefore, Saint Louis, in agreement with the Mileto family, believes that the best way to remember our dear friend and colleague Giorgia is to reward the talent and dedication toward music of young musicians by promoting the establishment of scholarships named in her name

The Giorgia Mileto Prize allows talented young musicians in the fields of Jazz and Pop to attend Saint Louis’ pre-academic and academic first- and second-level courses with significant fee concessions-from 40 percent up to 100 percent of the annual fee-for an annual value of each awardee of between 2,000 and 4,500 euros.

All musicians who are under 28 years of age as of June 10, 2022 are eligible for the Giorgia Mileto Prize.

The award will be divided into two categories:

  • Ordinary, all musicians who on June 10, 2022 are under 28 years of age and 17 years of age or older.
  • Under 18, all musicians who are under the age of 18 on June 10, 2022.
  • Scholarships will be awarded through auditions open to all instrument and voice courses in the Jazz Department.

To enter the auditions, send an audio and/or video recording (preferred) of two pieces (jazz standards and/or unpublished pieces) played as a group (duo, trio, quartet, etc.). Based on the materials received, a pre-selection of students admitted to the audition will be made.

Auditions will be held in September 2022 with a resident band/orchestra to support all applicants.

Saint Louis, which does not benefit from public grants for its institutional activities, is providing a fund of €20,000 of its own resources for the Giorgia Mileto Prize 2022 edition.
