Auditions open to join the Saint Louis Big Band conducted by Maestro Antonio Solimene.
Among the most important and formative experiences for a musician is definitely participation in the Saint Louis Big Band, a large orchestra experience that brings young musicians to play in high-level professional settings, even sharing the stage with important guest artists at prestigious events and festivals.
Special guests who have participated in recent years include names such as Javier Girotto, Kurt Elling, David Lynx, Rosario Giuliani, and many others.
Auditions are open for:
- male voices
- female voices
- woodwinds: trumpet, trombone, saxophone
- guitar
- plan
- bass
- battery
Auditions are also open to outsiders, with subsidized fees for wind instruments, while Saint Louis students can participate in Big Band, in addition to their own ensemble music workshop a.y. 2025/26
Auditions will be held on Thursdays, Oct. 2 and 9 , from h 12:00 at the office in Via cimarra, 19/b.
Next, Big Band meetings will be held starting Oct. 16 always on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

Saint Louis Big Band
The Saint Louis Big Band is an orchestral formation that fully respects the classical big band structure i.e., 4 Trumpets, 5 Saxes, Trombones, Rhythm Section, 6 Choristers.
The lineup, which was formed in September 2007, has to its credit participation in many prestigious jazz festivals such as Villa Celimontana Jazz, Atina Jazz, Brindisi in Jazz, Nick La Rocca Jazz Festival, prestigious stages such as Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome “Ennio Morricone” and Casa del Jazz, and numerous collaborations with internationally renowned artists, such as Kurt Elling, Peppe Servillo, Gegè Telesforo, Rosario Giuliani, Daniele Scannapieco, Marcello Rosa, and David Lynx.
