“Yellow Shirt,” LOJI’s first single for Lazio Sound Recording 2026

“Yellow Shirt” is the first single from the album by LOJI (Libera Orchestra del Jazz Italiano), set for release on June 3, 2026, as part of Saint Louis Music Production’s Jazz Collection series.

Inspired by the energy and fusion sounds of the 1980s, Yellow Shirt combines the infectious groove of the rhythm section with punchy brass parts and a bluesy, captivating tenor saxophone. With its memorable riffs, syncopated rhythms, and a bright, dynamic atmosphere, the song radiates enthusiasm and joie de vivre from the very first listen.

A modern tribute to the sound of the Yellowjackets that draws on the past without sacrificing its own identity, capable of winning over fans of classic fusion and those seeking new nuances in contemporary jazz.

LOJI – Libera Orchestra del Jazz Italiano is the Roman big band founded in 2019, featuring 14 musicians on stage and three conductors at the helm— Gabriele Ceccarelli, Filippo Minisola, and Matteo Rossi — has established itself as one of the most interesting jazz orchestral projects on the Italian scene.

The name says it all: “Libera,” because it is independent and constantly evolving; “of Italian Jazz,” because its stated goal is to promote the most original expressions of Italian jazz.

The orchestra is distinguished by its model of collective artistic direction —three conductors work in parallel on arrangements and compositions—and by its open membership, which consistently welcomes new talent. The result is an ever-changing sound laboratory, capable of interweaving orchestral writing and improvisation with a fluid and inclusive approach.

Over the years, LOJI has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Italian jazz: fromthe “ ” and “Casa del Jazz” in Rome tothe Alexanderplatz, as well as at the“ ” and “Muntagninjazz” festivals.
