The project was also born out of the friendship and collaboration between two musicians, Laura Lala (singer, author of some of the music and all the lyrics) and Sade Mangiaracina, who found that they shared a love of jazz and improvisation.

The same passion for “songs” and to attach great value to the lyrics, its interpretation and composition in English and in Sicilian, a dialect that belongs to the culture and roots of both.

• Pure songs because for some time now I have been reflecting on the concept of purity, meaning sincerity, honesty, which then are the greatest gifts that in my opinion jazz singing has left us; I talked about it with Sade and from the encounter with his music this idea became a project.

The use of Sicilian dialect is not the result of a rational choice but of instinct; it represents identity.”
