- The Neapolitan musician, together with his two inseparable companions, Corrado Cirillo on double bass and Luca Mignano on drums, makes an album containing eight songs, but five of them are compositions from his own pen.
- Nappi expresses himself through calibrated soloism, adorned with sudden chromatic sprints.
The Cirillo – Mignano tandem backs it up punctually with a tight and dragging swing. The theme of Vela, evokes poignant images of landscapes but touching the strings of the soul. An album to listen to while staring at the horizon.
STEFANO MASTRUZZI
“Mario Nappi and his trio invite us in with notes and mischievous glances, first disrupting the precarious harmony of daily life, then reconstructing for us an intangible, dreamy and fantastic world where each one remains suspended, but surprised, inspired and finally enraptured by an atavistic and overwhelming song until the last note…like an emotion…it is only a long silence to remind us that the record is finished.
ANTONIO SOLIMENE
” Essentiality, subtraction, respect for pauses, reflection between sentences, spatiality between moments of saying and thinking. These are the aspects, often ignored at this moment in history, that characterize Mario Nappi’s latest musical effort.
