Eleonora Strino is recognized by critics as one of the most promising emerging talents on the international jazz scene.
The international jazz magazine Jazz Guitar Today dedicated the cover of its February 2020 issue to her, having given the same space to the likes of Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Scofield and other great guitarists of the contemporary scene.
In March 2023, her instructional book Bebop Scales for Jazz Guitar, published by music publisher Fundamental Changes, which Amazon describes as “the world’s leading independent music publisher.”
May 2023 saw the release of her first album as bandleader, recorded live in Berlin in November 2021, along with two jazz legends-Greg Cohen on double bass and Joey Baron on drums. The album, titled I Got Strings, was produced by the renowned Italian record label Cam Jazz.
Eleonora presented the album at the Blue Note in Milan in a trio with Jason Brown and Darhyl Hall.
She boasts numerous collaborations with some of the best jazz musicians and maintains a busy international concert schedule. She has given tours and master classes in Brazil, the Canary Islands, North America and throughout Europe.
She is a permanent member of Dado Moroni’s quartet, produced by Auditorium Rai; Emanuele Cisi’s quartet with actor Filippo Timi, produced by Warner Bros;Greg Cohen’s trio; and The Great Guitarist with Ulf Wakenius and Martin Taylor (a group founded in 1973 by Barney Kessel, Charlie Byrd and Herb Ellis, of which she is the first woman member).
Alongside her concert activity, she is heavily involved in teaching. She has given workshops and seminars at the San Salvador Conservatory in Brazil, HEMU (Lausanne Conservatory) in Switzerland, the Conservatoire Pierre Cochereau in Nice, France, the Tirana Conservatory in Albania and the Conservatorio Taller de Músics in Barcelona.
