Fulvio Sigurtà began playing the trumpet at a very young age and entered the “Luca Marenzio” Conservatory of Brescia at age 15. Here, in ’98, he received his diploma in classical trumpet. In 2003 he moved to Boston to take advantage of a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, earning a diploma in jazz from the Brescia Conservatory in 2004 and, in 2005, a master’s degree with honors from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
His professional career began in 2004: while based in the British capital, he had the opportunity to record for Cam Jazz the prestigious project “Pure and Simple” with the Guildhall Big Band and John Taylor; in the same month he was involved in Gianni Coscia’s quartet together with Dino Piana and Enzo Pietropaoli, with whom he recorded the album “Frescobaldi per noi,” a jazz reinterpretation of some splendid Renaissance music by Girolamo Frescobaldi.
These two projects have been followed over the years by prestigious Italian and English collaborations, both in the studio and on tour, including several recordings with Nostalgia 77, Giovanni Guidi’s Unknown Rebel band, Susaphonix (Mauro Ottolini), The Broken Band (Andrea Lombardini), Lyria dance company (Giulia Gussago), Paolo Damiani, Enzo Pietropaoli’s “Yatra” quartet, Mayra Andrade, Cristina Zavalloni & Radar Band, Battista Lena, Bruno Heinen, Gabriele Mirabassi, Lydian Sound Orchestra, Jamie Cullum, Keith Tippett Octet and many others.
In 2007 he produced his first album as a leader, entitled “Conversations” (Impossible Ark Records), a duo with guitarist Federico Casagrande.
In 2010 he produced “Coincidence” (Palomar Records), a duo with double bassist Giovanni Maier.
In 2011 he began a fruitful collaboration with the prestigious jazz label Cam Jazz, which released three of his albums with great success:

- “SPL” (2013)
In 2012 Sigurtà received the “Best New Talent” award in the Italian Top Jazz referendum.
