Greta Panettieri

From New York to Italy, from major Italian festivals and clubs to television.

One of the most enchanting voices on the Italian and international scene, Greta Panettieri, who grew up artistically in New York, is a musician with a volcanic personality.

Not only singer and composer but also multi-instrumentalist – plays violin, guitar, piano – and author of lyrics also for the songs of her colleagues(Gege’ Telesforo, Ainè). The 2015 JAZZIT AWARD establishes her as one of Italy’s best jazz singers.

In 2014 and 2015 she conquered the press and the public by performing in major Italian clubs and theaters with her “Viaggio in Jazz,” which is also the title of the Graphic Novel published in December 2014 by Edizioni Corsare, inspired precisely by Greta’s adventurous artistic rise during the years she lived in New York, through songs from her latest soul jazz album “Under Control” and her highly acclaimed “Non Gioco Più” (Italian ’60s in Jazz), a record that reinterprets the hits interpreted by the great Mina in a completely new and original style, also re-proposing the virtuoso song “Brava” thanks to Greta’s excellent vocal talents duetting with trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso.

November 2016 saw the release of “Shattered/Shattered,” composed almost entirely of original songs, is a 360-degree portrait of Greta’s multifaceted personality and her virtuoso artistic journey, which has always gone beyond the definition of genre and style.

A declared openness to endless interpretative possibilities: from vocal and guitar ballad, to contemporary brazilian, to a dedication to Bowie with a very personal version of “Life on Mars.”

This album is made unique and pressing by the wide variety of musicians who, between Italy and the United States, collaborated on it: from the three lyrics written by Claudio “Greg” Gregori, Piji Siciliani and Jennie Booth, respectively, to the Brazilians Itaiguara Brandao and Mauricio Zottarelli who collaborated with Greta for a long time during her New York period, to Francesco Diodati involved in a voice and guitar duo, to the jazz imprint of saxophonists Max Ionata, Alfondo Deidda and Cristiano Arcelli.

2017 sees Greta starring in various national and international tours including two tours in Russia, China and Spain and three national tours with the great Brazilian artist Toquinho.
November 9, 2018 saw the release of “With Love,” his new album as a performer: a special dedication to his audience for whom he revisited great hits by various authors including Vasco, Phil Collins, Supertramp and Lucio Dalla. The line-up features special guest Flavio Boltro.
