Jeremy Pelt

Jeremy Pelt studied classical trumpet as a child and focused on jazz after playing in a high school jazz ensemble. He studied at Berklee College of Music .
Among those with whom he has performed are Ravi Coltrane , Roy Hargrove , Greg Osby and Cassandra Wilson.

Jeremy Pelt is considered among the best trumpet players on the contemporary jazz scene, highly acclaimed by the general U.S. public and voted trumpet’s “Rising Star” for the past five years by the prestigious Downbeat Magazine.

In his career as a young trumpet player, he performed alongside such sacred monsters as Jimmy Heath, Frank Foster, and Ravi Coltrane, eventually recording with the great Wayne Shorter.

He has lent the precious sound of his trumpet to the Roy Hargrove Big Band, the Village Vanguard Orchestra, and the Duke Ellington Big Band. The Jeremy Pelt Quintet is among the most followed and appreciated groups in New York jazz.

Jeremy Pelt’s quintet represents the quintessence of modern-day post-bop, in full continuity with the line drawn by Miles Davis first and Terenche Blanchard later. Album after album, Pelt has developed his own personal style.
