Marco Minnerman

Marco Minnemann is a German drummer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist naturalized from the United States, known for his work as a session player and as a member of the Aristocrats.

In June 2007 he was featured on the cover of Modern Drummer because he “was instrumental in developing the advanced concept of complex interdependence,” or a drumming technique that allows him to play different tempos with each of his limbs.

Marco Minnerman debuted in the crossover genre group Freaky Fukin Weirdoz with whom he played on a couple of albums. In 1998 his first album as a solo artist, The Green Mindbomb, was released.

Marco Minnerman has collaborated with a number of artists throughout his career, including Kreator, Necrophagist, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, Mike Keneally, Nina Hagen, Steven Wilson, and Jordan Rudess.
He is also a member of various supergroups and projects, including The Mute Gods and The Sea Within.

In early 2011 he participated, along with six other top drummers in the world, in the audition called by Dream Theater to find a replacement for Mike Portnoy, who left the group on October 8, 2010. Also in 2011, he founded the group The Aristocrats together with Guthrie Govan and Bryan Beller, with whom he released four albums.
